Internet2 is excited to announce that we are offering the Internet2 Inclusivity (I2I) Scholarship once again! After a two-year pause, we are back to convening in person for the 2022 Internet2 Technology Exchange December 5-9 in Denver, Colorado.
The I2I Scholarship focuses resources and attention to improve diversity and inclusion in the community of networking and technical professionals. It provides support for emerging information technology (IT) women professionals to attend Internet2 technical conferences – including the Internet2 Technology Exchange – thereby encouraging their career growth and opportunities in the IT field.

According to a National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) March 2022 report, only “26% of professional computing occupations in the 2021 U.S. workforce were held by women.” Further, in the role of chief technology officer, only 13% of those positions were held by women in 2020.
Since the inception of the I2I Scholarship program in 2014, we have been able to sponsor 41 early-career networking and IT women professionals to attend Internet2 annual conferences in support of their career development. The experience includes mentorship opportunities at these events. To learn more about what the scholarship has meant to past recipients and their careers, check out these I2I Scholarship recipient profiles.
