The NET+ Instructure Canvas program gives institutions a trusted way to adopt and influence Instructure services, including the Canvas learning management system. Through community leadership, shared standards, and direct engagement with the provider, campuses gain more than a contract—they gain a partnership.

Developed in collaboration with Internet2 member institutions, the program fosters meaningful and sustained engagement between campuses and Instructure. The NET+ Instructure Canvas program enables institutions to shape priorities, address shared challenges, and drive long-term value through collective action.

Program Benefits:

Institutions participating in the Instructure Canvas program can expect the following:

Institutions that join the program benefit from a Business Agreement that addresses essential priorities including data privacy, accessibility, and pricing. With more than 170 campuses participating, the agreement reflects a decade of peer-vetted trust, contract clarity, and predictable procurement.

 

Continuous Engagement That Delivers Ongoing Value

NET+ Instructure Canvas is not a one-time purchase, but rather an ongoing model of collaboration. Institutions benefit from:

  • Quarterly community calls and structured program updates
  • Joint roadmap and feedback sessions with Instructure
  • Participation in benchmarking surveys and data-sharing initiatives
  • Opportunities to present and collaborate at Internet2 and Instructure events

This structure helps campuses stay informed, advocate for shared needs, and influence service direction in alignment with institutional goals.

 

Guided by Higher Education Leaders

The program is governed by an active Service Advisory Group made up of professionals from participating institutions. This group meets monthly and advises on program strategy, provides regular feedback to Instructure, and collaborates on shared resources such as best practice guides.

Additionally, the Data Governance Advisory Council brings together experts from participating institutions to help shape Instructure standards for data privacy, usage, and stewardship. Their input strengthens the program’s alignment with Instructure policies and evolving compliance expectations.

Joining the NET+ Instructure Canvas Program:

Program Eligibility Requirements

In order to join the NET+ Instructure Canvas program and take advantage of special benefits, terms, and pricing, a couple of things have to happen:

  • The Institution must first become an Internet2 Member if they aren’t already
  • The Institution would then sign an Enterprise Customer Agreement (ECA) with Internet2 on behalf of Instructure
  • Internet2 would work with Instructure to generate your next Order Form with special NET+ terms and pricing
