SURVEY: InCommon Seeks Input on Identity Verification Needs

InCommon has launched a comprehensive survey to understand how U.S. campuses are managing identity verification and fraud prevention challenges.

The InCommon Identity Verification and Fraud survey explores several key areas:

  • Current fraud concerns and identity verification use cases
  • Existing implementations and planned initiatives
  • Methodologies being used or considered (from commercial services to government ID validation)
  • Interest in community collaboration and potential Internet2 identity proofing services

Please help InCommon and the higher education community at large by filling out the 10-minute survey. The survey closes Oct. 15.

InCommon Advisory Committee Nominations Now Open

InCommon is currently seeking nominations, including self-nominations, for its advisory committees.

These committees are seeking new members:

  • InCommon Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
  • Community Trust and Assurance Board (CTAB)
  • Community Architecture Committee for Trust and Identity (CACTI)
  • eduroam Advisory Committee (eAC) 

You can submit nominations via a form on the InCommon website.

Community Service Spotlight with Derek Eiler

With the Call for InCommon Advisory Committee Nominations underway, InCommon is highlighting some current volunteers from the community.

Derek Eiler, MS, CISSP, principal systems engineer with the Nevada System of Higher Education, serves on the InCommon Technical Advisory Committee and is vice chair of the eduroam Advisory Committee.
