The InCommon Steering Committee is one of several ways our community comes together to support the research and education mission.

Specifically, the committee serves as the high-level governance body establishing policies and general practices, ensuring that software and service specifications, recommended practices, and requirements all support the research and education mission of InCommon.

We’re pleased to welcome Rachana Ananthakrishnan, executive director and head of products with Globus at the University of Chicago, as a new member of the InCommon Steering Committee. Ananthakrishnan will serve a three-year term on the committee.

Brad Christ, associate vice president for information technology and chief information officer at Eastern Washington University, and Christine Miki, president of Benelogic, have each been reappointed to a three-year term.

“We are fortunate to have a remarkably rich governance and advisory committee structure that helps keep InCommon’s priorities and requirements well-defined,” said Kevin Morooney, vice president of trust and identity services & NET+ at Internet2. “I’m grateful to all our steering committee members who contribute their time and expertise, and who represent a rich set of perspectives that inform the policy and operational issues we consider to support the mission of InCommon.”

Outgoing steering committee members are Ted Hanns, chief information officer for the Health Science Divisions at Yale University; Dee Childs, former vice president for information technology and chief information officer at Texas A&M University; and Chris Sedore, vice president for information technology and chief information officer at Tufts University. We are truly grateful to them for their guidance, leadership, and commitment in supporting the mission of InCommon.
