UW-System, a State of Wisconsin agency, is a federated system of 13 universities at 26 locations across Wisconsin. UW-Madison (UW) operates the UW-System Network (SysNet) on behalf of the Board of Regents. SysNet is a nearly 1600 mile, facilities-based fiber-optic network that interconnects the campuses to each other, the Internet and to special purpose research and education networks such as Internet2 and ESNet to meet our mission.
