Internet2 continues to closely monitor the progress of Hurricane Idalia, following its landfall in Florida Wednesday morning as a Category 3 storm.
According to the National Hurricane Center’s public advisory issued today at 11 a.m. EDT, the center of Idalia is crossing into southern Georgia, and hurricane warnings are in effect for portions of northern Florida, southern Georgia, eastern Georgia, and southeastern South Carolina.
The Internet2 NOC continues to actively monitor and manage network services in anticipation of potential impact and reduced resiliency in the region. According to the National Hurricane Center’s public advisory issued today at 2 p.m. EDT, Idalia is forecast to become a major hurricane before it reaches the Gulf Coast of Florida on Wednesday.
