InCommon and Internet2 Helping Campuses with Identity Proofing

Research and education (R&E) institutions are navigating increasing pressure from multiple fronts to establish robust identity proofing practices.

InCommon and Internet2 are together supporting the R&E IAM and security communities through these upcoming efforts:

  • InCommon Academy Identity Proofing Accelerator: This is an 8-week program to help your campus assess needs and develop an identity proofing roadmap. The application deadline is Feb. 13, 2026.
  • NET+ RFP for Identity Proofing Services: The deadline for responses closes at 4 p.m. ET on Feb. 17, 2026.

Advance CAMP Review Series: When IAM Security Drives Action

Coming out of Advance CAMP (ACAMP) at the 2025 Internet2 Technology Exchange, the InCommon team compiled six signals reflecting the most important discussions from identity and access management (IAM) practitioners. These insights reveal what will shape IAM in 2026 and beyond.

Read this first blog in a series as we share these insights. InCommon kicked off the blog series with one of the most recurring themes at ACAMP: security in IAM.

Community Input Needed for eduroam Best Practices

The eduroam Advisory Committee (eAC) has convened a working group to update the Best Practices Guide for eduroam-US. The guide offers recommendations and advice on deploying eduroam wireless access within the R&E community.

The eduroam Best Practices Update Working Group is collecting feedback on aspects of the service they find challenging, as well as their experiences with the tools staff can use to operate eduroam.
