Jamie Sunderland
Executive Director, Service Development
As Executive Director, Service Development Jamie plays a key role in defining, developing and managing Internet2’s key relationships and service strategy. In this role, he is responsible for working across all of Internet2’s functional areas to identify and develop opportunities, define overall (and specific) business strategies, and act as the senior relationship manager for strategic service providers and partners.
Before joining Internet2 Jamie was Director of Products and Solutions at AARNet, the National Research and Education Network of Australia. His roles over 7 years at AARNet included responsibility for commercial partnerships and Net+ services, trust and identity, development of tools to support research, business development, customer engagement and infrastructure project management. He led a number of initiatives to expand the AARNet community into vocational education, health research and cultural sectors; and led a number of infrastructure projects to extend and enhance the AARNet network.
Prior to this Jamie spent 13 years at Monash University where he was IT Director (International) based in Melbourne, Australia with several overseas postings. He established the technology infrastructure and support for Monash University’s campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Johannesburg, South Africa and the Prato study center in Italy. In addition to his senior management roles, he has held several technical roles including network engineer, systems administrator, software development and technical support.
Jamie moved from Sydney Australia to the USA in 2016 and completed a Dual Executive MBA with IMD in Switzerland and CKGSB in China in 2017. He also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from Monash University majoring in Applied Physics and Computer Science.
