But the Internet2 Cloud Learning and Skills Sessions (CLASS) program brings something entirely unique to the cloud learning space for the higher education research community. Campus Technology recently interviewed Amanda Tan, research engagement program manager for CLASS at Internet2, about how the program is helping researchers — and the IT and research computing and data professionals who support them — adapt to a quickly changing cloud environment. Amanda Tan “The cloud, coupled with other relevant technologies, is a means to an end… to help people step up to scientific research challenges and respond to those challenges better and faster,” Tan said. With a vendor-neutral approach designed by and for the research community, CLASS reflects the evolving needs of modern collaborative science. It supports researchers and institutions in making the most of opportunities to accelerate discovery using the latest cloud technologies. According to Tan, the central goal of the CLASS program is democratizing access to cloud learning. “We want to make the cloud more accessible for everyone in the community… it’s all about building a pathway for beginning all the way to advanced learners.” Read the story in Campus Technology, Internet2’s CLASS: Helping Researchers Move Forward with the Cloud ICYMI Elevate Your Cloud Learning This Summer With Internet2 CLASS Workshops Catching Up on the Cloud: Spring 2024
