Internet2 and the eduroam community here and abroad are extremely saddened to hear of the sudden loss of Miroslav (Miro) Milinović.
Most recently Miro served as the assistant director of SRCE (Sveučilišni računski centar), but his roots in the international eduroam and identity and access (IAM) communities were extensive and his contributions there were substantial.
Among his many contributions, Miro was chair of the GÉANT eduroam operational team, and was an active member of the global eduroam governance and the Internet2 eduroam advisory committees, as well as several other development and steering bodies.
He was a tireless advocate for eduroam. He mentored numerous people in the international community, helping new federations join the global community that is eduroam. Miro is remembered for being generous with his time and energy, and for many was a first point of contact in the international world of eduroam and identity management.
Miro will be very much missed, both in his work and as a friend to many, and leaves behind a legacy of passionate advocacy for the communities he served.
Internet2 wishes to express its deep condolences to Miro’s many coworkers, friends, and family.
The SRCE has set up a condolences book that is open to the public.
