SC24 Arrives in Atlanta This November – See What Internet2 Has in Store

Mark your calendars. SC24 is just around the corner, taking place Nov. 17-22 at the Georgia World Congress Center in the heart of downtown Atlanta.

The International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis – better known as SC – brings together thousands of scientists, engineers, researchers, and students. This year’s conference continues its tradition as a cornerstone event for the HPC community, and Internet2 is thrilled to once again be part of it. 

Here’s a sneak peek of what a Internet2 has in store for you at SC24.

The Internet2 booth at SC is a welcome landing spot for members and a hub of activity

Your Hub for Community – Internet2 Booth #2441

Looking for a place to refuel, recharge, and reconnect with Internet2 leadership and staff? Join us in booth #2441 on the SC24 exhibit floor. The Internet2 booth is a welcome landing spot for members and a hub of activity – from informal meet-and-greets to in-depth discussions on the future of advanced networking and research support. Special events for Internet2 members include Top Up Your Cup with coffee and pastries from 10 – 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, and Thursday, Nov. 21, as well as two Happy Hour socials from 4:30 – 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, and Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Also, join Howard Pfeffer, Internet2 CEO and president, and other session leaders at the Americas HPC Collaboration Birds of a Feather session on Nov. 19, 5:15 – 6:45 p.m. ET (Room B211). This session will showcase how CANARIE, Internet2, and RedCLARA are driving HPC collaboration across the continent.

RCD Professionals Gather for Coffee with CaRCC

Research computing and data (RCD) professionals who are part of the Campus Research Computing Consortium (CaRCC) are invited to a special Coffee with CaRCC from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Join us in the Internet2 booth #2441 to connect with the national RCD community, discuss workforce development, and explore the evolving roles and sustainability of RCD resources on campuses and beyond.

Network with Internet2 Industry Members

The SC exhibit floor is also a great place to explore how Internet2 industry members are advancing solutions in HPC and networking for the R&E community. Be sure to visit AWS, Ciena, Cisco Systems, Google, Juniper Networks, Microsoft, Nokia, Omnibond, Oracle, and PIER Group on the exhibit floor to learn about their latest innovations and services. If your institution participates in eduroam, pre-configure your devices before you travel for a hassle-free experience.

Immensely Powerful, Incredibly Fast – SCinet Booth #2149

This year, SCinet will deliver 8.41 Tbps of network bandwidth, connecting the global SC community throughout the conference week. This achievement is made possible through volunteer collaboration and contributions from a wide range of research, education, and industry organizations. Special recognition goes to Angie Asmus, SC24 SCinet chair and interim director of network and telecommunications at Colorado State University. Congratulations to Angie and the entire SCinet team for their extraordinary efforts in bringing this cutting-edge infrastructure to life.

Did you know? Internet2 has been a SCinet contributor for 25 years.



As a Platinum SCinet Contributor for SC24, Internet2 is offering network services and volunteer expertise to support R&E community demonstrations, SCinet Network Research Exhibitions, and other collaborative opportunities at the conference. Internet2 is contributing ports and capacity on its national network totaling 3.1 Tbps to connect SCinet and the SC exhibit floor to Internet2’s R&E platform and Internet2 Peer Exchange (I2PX) service.
