Spotlight on Internet2 Industry Members at SC24: Shaping the Future of HPC and Research Collaboration

SC24, the international conference for high performance computing (HPC) is coming to Atlanta Nov. 17-22. Among the participants are Internet2 industry members who are playing a key role in the latest advances in computing, networking, storage, and analysis.

At this year’s event, Internet2 industry members will be showcasing cutting-edge solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of the research and education community. Be sure to visit their booths to explore hands-on demonstrations, meet with experts in the field, and discover how these innovations are shaping the future of HPC.

  • AWS, booth #2501: AWS will have a team of HPC, research, compute, storage, and data experts on hand. They look forward to meeting attendees, learning about their HPC workload needs, and sharing strategies as to how researchers can get started running HPC workloads on AWS and continue to innovate with managed HPC services and virtually unlimited infrastructure. The AWS booth will feature deep-dive demonstrations from customers and partners as well as sessions for builders. Emory University will be featured at an AWS-hosted breakfast roundtable.   • Ciena (opens in a new window), booth #1940: Ciena is a networking hardware, software, and services company based in Hanover, MD, specializing in creating networks that adapt to meet customer needs. The Ciena booth will feature the traveling FABRIC node, delivering R&E routed connectivity at 400 Gbps, along with several product demonstrations. Additionally, Ciena is contributing to SCinet by providing equipment (i.e., 6500 Reconfigurable Line System, Waveserver 5, 8190, WaveLogic 5 Extreme, and WaveLogic 5 Nano) to support multiple WAN circuits on the show floor. Using WaveLogic 5 Nano technology, 4×400 Gbps connectivity will be brought from McLean, VA, to Atlanta, GA, covering over 1,300 kilometers (807.78 miles).
