This summer the Community Architect’s Workshop in Minneapolis gave the Internet2 team an opportunity to share information that we’ve learned about different hardware platforms and protocols that will be incorporated into the next generation infrastructure.
The community architects in attendance shared valuable insights and perspectives on the different presentation topics and engaged in thoughtful discussion that will guide and shape the final design of the next generation of infrastructure. Since the workshop (and preceding RFI) the team has continued to seek clarity and answer open questions on various technologies and roadmaps with key vendors.
In mid-September we are convening the community packet working group to review and provide input on the draft packet RFP. The packet RFP will be released by October and responses will be reviewed beginning in early 2020.
