The InCommon Federation, Internet2’s Community Access Framework for higher education and research, is working with key partners to make it easier for campuses to connect to valuable services, such as Canvas, the National Institutes of Health grants management system, library content providers, administrative collaborations, and more.

InCommon, in collaboration with InCommon Catalyst Moran Technology Consulting, completed a pilot toward this end in January. The goal is to offer institutions adopting commercial cloud IAM products as their enterprise SSO solutions simplified access to research and education (R&E) collaborations in the InCommon community. The program will identify well-qualified, cloud-based solutions offered by organizations committed to the InCommon mission to enable R&E collaborations and help institutions find IAM solutions that are the best fit for their needs.

Pilot participants included two solution providers and eight higher education institutions that participated in surveys and interviews to help identify priority needs.

InCommon will be presenting on Making It Easier at the 2024 Internet2 Community Exchange in March. Be sure to join us there for our session, InCommon Federation Made Easy, to find out more!
