More than 50 higher ed institutions are participating in the Cloud Storage Working Group facilitated by Internet2. The deprovisioning of accounts sub-workgroup has been focusing on the creation of a set of best practices and documentation for common scenarios such as: removal of access from the user, holding account in case of return, holding content for a specified time, identifying collaborators in shared content who will lose access, and strategies for transferring content to new owners.

The sub-working group comprises more than twenty universities and is led by Chuck Boeheim of Cornell University. The Data Migration sub-working group of the Cloud Storage Working Group comprises more than t10 universities and is led by Hellen Zziwa of Harvard University and David Cavalieri of the University of Colorado, Boulder. The sub-working group has been focusing on the development of requirements for Data Migration tools to assist universities in the migration of data from Google Workspace for Education to other cloud-based platforms or on-premise storage solutions. The requirements were incorporated into a Request for Information issued by Internet2 in February of 2023 to gain a better understanding of the products and services offered by Service Providers to facilitate data migration. Join this session to learn about the top data migration vendors selected with help from your peer organizations and the next steps for bringing them into the NET+ program
