New NET+ Persona Service Provides Identity Proofing Solution

In 2027, the National Institutes of Health will require institutions whose researchers access controlled-access data repositories to verify those researchers at a NIST moderate assurance level. Access to critical research data depends on institutions meeting that date.

As a result, Internet2, through collaboration with InCommon, has launched NET+ Persona, a timely solution for the research and education (R&E) community.

Working Group Recommends Continued InCommon Investment in OpenID Federation

Following two years of investigation into the future of federated trust and a community consultation, the Profiling OpenID Federation for Research and Education Working Group has released its Recommendation for Continued InCommon Investment in OpenID Federation.

This recommendation addresses an important strategic need for InCommon’s engagement now, while standards and profiles are being shaped internationally.
