The Eastern Regional Network (ERN) Broadening the Reach (BTR) working group is focused on learning how best to support smaller, mid-sized, and under-resourced campuses. The campuses include Minority Serving Institutions, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research Institutions that have compelling scientific research and education activities in the Northeast region.

Key to this is helping institutions build and leverage a highly-skilled, diverse workforce to support advanced cyberinfrastructure, leverage external resources and expertise to augment their in-house efforts, and identify cyberinfrastructure gaps while breaking down collaboration barriers.

Join us on April 20th at 2 p.m. ET for an online event featuring working group co-chairs, Dr. Forough Ghahramani from Edge, Inc. and John Hicks from Internet2, who will share:

  • Information about the Eastern Regional Network’s Broadening the Reach program
  • Results from the ERN BTR December 2020 workshop results
  • Available resources and funding opportunities your campus could leverage
  • Ways to participate with these research and cyberinfrastructure collaborations

The event follows the highly successful ERN Broadening the Reach Workshop, which was held in December 2020. This workshop brought together representatives from smaller, mid-sized and under-resourced institutions to better understand their needs.
