We’re just a few weeks away from the 2022 Internet2 Technology Exchange (TechEX), taking place in Denver from December 5–9. Nine-time TechEX presenter Nick Lewis, program manager, NET+ Cloud Services – Security and Identity, will be one of the featured speakers for the identity and access management (IAM) track.
(Check out the IAM track of sessions and register now.)
We asked Nick to offer insight on the importance of his session, “HECVAT 2022 Including IAM Updates,” and what attendees will gain from it and TechEX overall.
Q: What do you hope attendees will learn from your session on the Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit (HECVAT) 2022 Including IAM Updates?
A: I hope they will have a sense of the updates to the HECVAT IAM section. The HECVAT works based on community input, and we’re asking for feedback for the future.
Q: Why is this an important topic to cover?
A: IAM is more important than ever with the explosion of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions, and federated access can help make it easier for people to do their jobs.
Q: What do you enjoy most about speaking on IAM topics?
A: Getting feedback on community work, sharing what the community is working on, and getting people connected with the community.
Q: What’s the No. 1 reason IAM professionals should come to TechEX/CAMP Week 2022?
A: Without a doubt, the community!
