Internet2 Security Architect Steven Wallace will present Internet2’s routing table reports on Thursday, May 6 from 2-3 p.m. ET. The route table reports provide Internet2 Connectors and campus network operators with information to assist them in adopting best practices to secure their networks and the global Internet.
The reports highlight any misalignment with MANRS (Mutually Agreed Norms for Route Security) practices. Each route announced to Internet2 is checked against the Connector’s announced routing policy and the individual public records that describe how the route should look. The report is used as a tool to identify inconsistencies. These reports list each and every prefix the Internet2 network receives from community networks. The routing reports provide details on:
- Consistency and completeness of IRR route and aut-num objects
- Use and status of RPKI
- Adherence to the published routing policy
- Ability to use ARIN’s advanced features such as authenticated IRR, reverse DNSSEC, etc.
- And much more …
If you’re a network engineer and have responsibilities for creating/maintaining IRR objects, implementing RPKI, or want to better understand the overall routing security of the routes announced to Internet2, please plan to attend.
