Policy Issues

Unwavering advocacy

Internet2’s Government Relations program strives to create an open forum for dialogue between the higher education technology community and the federal government to encourage innovation and collaboration, and to address significant policy issues on behalf of the Internet2 community.

This program serves our community on a variety of strategic levels: defining and developing public policy projects and priorities; drafting advocacy materials; analyzing rules, legislation, and other matters that impact Internet2 and our members; and engaging in external advocacy.

The major priorities for this program are to preserve and protect the integrity and growth of research and education networks; promote public policies that foster innovation and transform research, learning, data-intensive science, health care, and other areas that increasingly rely on the unconstrained bandwidth and leading-edge network services offered by Internet2 and its partners; and encourage community support, collaboration, and advocacy for key public policies.
