Covid-19 Information and Resources

Please note: The COVID-19 situation in the United States is fluid, and we continue to monitor developments that may impact attendees for our 2022 Internet2 Technology Exchange. As such, we will continue to update the safety precautions outlined below as appropriate to minimize risks to attendees and staff. To stay current, check this page periodically leading up to the event.

Is the Technology Exchange requiring proof of a COVID-19 vaccination for all attendees?

The Technology Exchange is requiring all registrants to be fully vaccinated* prior to participating in the in-person event. A COVID-19 booster shot is strongly encouraged as extra protection, and the CDC may update its “fully vaccinated” definition to include a boost before the event.

If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, please check the most recent CDC guidelines for isolation, testing, and mask-wearing protocols.

These requirements are consistent with best practices for conferences and other events/activities.

*Fully vaccinated status is defined as having received the last required dose of a CDC or WHO-recognized COVID-19 vaccine at least two weeks before the start date of the event

How will the Technology Exchange ensure that attendees are fully vaccinated?

Attendees will need to show a government-issued ID and their vaccination card/Digital COVID Certificate before participating in the event. If you have questions about what methods for showing proof of vaccination are acceptable, please contact meetingregistration@internet2.edu and we will respond in a timely manner. Once they visited the Covid-19 check-in desk, they may join their registration line (by last name) and will receive their event badge.

Because badges are only given to those who have provided proof of vaccination, attendees will need to display their badges whenever entering the event. If they lose their badge, they will need to return to the Covid-19 check-in desk with their ID and vaccination card to receive authorization for a replacement badge.

Is the Technology Exchange requiring that attendees show proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test result?

Attendees do not need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before participating in the event.
